Growing up on the Prairies, almost every child has dreamed of hockey glory. Arbutus Homes has created a show home in Rosewood as part of the 2016 Kinsmen Winner’s Choice Home Lottery, that gives life to those dreams.

Located at 102 Sinclair Cres., this executive style family home is seriously styled to support the needs of a busy and modern family. But in the basement, the home becomes the drool-worthy envy of the neighbourhood.

It’s got an indoor rink. That’s right – an actual rink.

The Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice rink by Hockey Shot brings home ice advantage to the next level. It’s complete with goal nets and a goal light. There’s even a VIP viewing lounge where your family and friends can watch all the action.

Just off the rink is a locker-room where you can lace up your skates and prep for the big game.

The rest of the home is 3,927 square feet of stylish, but usable space. That’s in part thanks to Jen Hawk, (Occupy Design) the designer on the project.

“For the family house, the main focus was about creating a space for family. We really wanted it to be durable, but we wanted it to feel luxury and modern. And modern in the sense of clean lines, but warm materials,” says Hawk.

The spacious kitchen features an eating nook and an oversized island. The kitchen is open to a family room framed by large windows on one side and a fireplace on the other.

Throughout the home, natural materials, such as the wood paneling in the master bedroom, combine with modern white features throughout the house create a welcoming, but contemporary space.
