December 22, 2015
Are you staging your house for the holidays? Moving during winter has it’s perks!
Nothing makes a home feel homier than being decorated for the season. Whether you are selling your home during Thanksgiving or during Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Saint Nicholas Day, Eid’ul-Adha, Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Lucia Day, Hanukkah, Christmas Day, Three Kings Day/Epiphany, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, Omisoka, Yule, or Saturnalia it is a great time to add decorations and get into the holiday season and spirit.
Here are five simple things that can leave a lasting impression for those potential home buyers:
1) Add Curb Appeal
Add a wreath or a horn of plenty to your door to make it more inviting and appealing. Adding a few decorative earns or stand alone pieces on a porch are a great idea as well.
2) Add decorations
No matter what you celebrate add your decorations. A menorah would look incredible on the fireplace and add warmth to a room. A kitchen table decorate for Kwanzaa would look inviting and a Christmas tree lit up in the living room would add a an inviting feeling to any living.
3) Accentuate Your Current Palate
No matter what holiday you choose to decorate for, ensure that the colors you are putting out accent your current theme.
4) Keep It Simple
Less is more. That includes decorating. Keep decorations to larger rooms such as the kitchen, living room, dining room or sitting room. Not every room in the house has to have decorations.
5) Keep The Lights On
As the days get shorter (and colder) your home will feel more inviting if you leave the lights on. This can include outside lights as well holiday lights. Keep your fireplace lit if you can as well.
