A New Home Built by Arbutus Properties

A new home built by Arbutus Properties at The Meadows follows the Architectural Design Guidelines that we have set for both ourselves and our partner builders. Our design guidelines and design review process was created to establish and sustain a specific design esthetic within our masterplanned community to ensure your home and your neighbourhood look and feel as good as the day you bought your home here enriching  this area for generations to come.  These guidelines make it possible to create an identity for a community that gives it a coherent character similar to that of an older neighbourhood that has evolved over time.

Our fundamental principles are based on:

Design integrity:

Assuring that the design of the architecture has integrity, that the structure is pleasing as well as appropriate to the area in which they exist and that they always communicate a sense of place.

Timeline architecture:

Applying the principles of craftsman architecture to create a sense of timelessness and ensure that communities will age gracefully

Our Guidelines include requirements such as adequate setbacks, compatible architecture, exterior material and colour palette, lot grading and landscaping, plus more, but we’d like to point out a few in The Meadows that we find our unique and special in Saskatoon.

Quality exteriors

We know that a home’s use of material and durability on the exterior can often be overlooked but a new home built by Arbutus will always use fiber cement siding like, James Hardie, rather than the less expensive vinyl commonly used.

Landscaping

We believe that first impressions last and curb appeal matters, so Arbutus will provide front landscaping and a tree, plus a paved walkway and driveway to each home in The Meadows.

Front-porch living

We encourage a sense of community by emphasizing the use of front porches and decks on street fronts and downplaying the visual dominance of garages.

We believe that architectural integrity at The Meadows will be maintained through careful planning and building design guidelines to protect and enhance the value of each home. We welcome you to visit us and see what lots we have available to build you a new home.
